Our programs
Local Volunteer in Kyoto or Tokyo
If you live in the area and would like to help out on your own schedule, fill out an application below for an interview to become a volunteer!
Duties include cleaning, socializing cats, tracking cat health, and organization.
Please note that at this time, the Tokyo volunteer application form is for prospective fosters only.
Kyoto Live-In Volunteer: Cat Care
Minimum 3-week live-in volunteer experience. Accommodation and vegan-friendly foodstuffs are provided.
Live-in volunteers must commit to 25 hours of volunteer activities a week, including: cleaning, socializing cats, tracking cat health, and organization.
Please note that we are not able to sponsor work visas.

Looking to help just for a weekend? Or maybe a lifetime? Want to use your passion to help save lives? JCN is always looking for specialized volunteers! Donating time, skills, and materials are some of the most effective ways to help us do what we do best: focus on the animals.
Offer more infrequent (but just as important) services like fostering, animal transport (car, train, plane), translation, home improvement/organization for our rescue homes, photography, and more!
