Volunteer under the spotlight: Pierre

Luquet Pierre is from Grasse, France. It’s a town on the French Riviera near Cannes. He has a cat at home, whom he misses dearly during his time away.

He arrived at the Inawashiro JCN shelter on the 2nd of January and will continue volunteering till June. Currently however, he’s left to volunteer at the Kyoto branch of JCN and will return to Inawashiro in the end of March.

Pierre loves animals and enjoys taking care of them. He likes playing video games and watching movies to pass his free time. He’s also got a pretty good hand at cooking, his friends at the shelter would agree. During his time at the shelter, everyone appreciated his help in carrying heavy things, shoveling the snow and doing other laborious tasks.

“I wished to come to Japan because it was a childhood dream to experience life in this country. I love taking care of pets, so my month in Inawashiro was perfect. I became really close to three cats - Simon, Martin & Maya. It was really nice. Now in Kyoto I'm taking care of children in a school. It is very different from taking care of the cats and dogs, but it is also a great and lovely experience!”- Pierre

Thank you for all your hard work at JCN shelters Pierre.

We wish you all the very best for the future
