Volunteer Under The Spotlight: Ben!

My name is Ben, I'm from Germany / Hamburg and I'm 21 years old. 

In Germany, I lived my whole life together with animals. At the moment I have two lovely dogs at home and I really miss them, but Chacha and Addy are also really lovely and want to cuddle a lot. So that's makes it a lot easier.

My two cats sadly passed away last year. Maybe that's why I had nostalgia to have cats again. 

When I saw the Job offer on workaway, I knew that I had to apply! The offer sounded just perfect for me. A lot of Cats and two lovely dogs in a relaxed city. Really appreciated after all the trouble I had in Tokyo. =D

When I was 14 years old, I helped at the local veterinarian in the pet Kindergarten. I had to take care of the cats and dogs that the owners brought to us when they went to holidays or work, and I really enjoyed it. 

I would describe myself as a calm and relaxed person. I love video games, longboarding (a long skateboard =D), filming, drumming, reading, tennis, singing and since I'm in Japan I also found interest in cooking. =P

I arrived at the shelter on 1st of June and will stay for 2 months.

The 'Cat Room B' is my favorite Cat room. It's the one with the not so social cats. To see how the cats that first always ran away and hissed at you when you tried to pet them, getting more and more comfortable with you, is just a pleasure. I also managed to pet some of them already. That makes me really proud. I really like Cassie, Tom and Martin. But my all time favorite is Sara. She is really beautiful! I haven't been able to pet her until now, but that is definitely my goal!
