Peggy (called Mikan by her rescuers) was found living in the ruins of an abandoned house in rural Saitama. Her front leg had been badly mangled in some kind of accident, but the trauma of her injury had left her so fearful of people that it took a team of very determined rescuers days to catch her. Peggy was taken for treatment immediately after rescue, but her leg was too damaged to save, and her front left leg had to be amputated. Peggy has since recovered very well from her injury, however, she is still a very shy and nervous little girl. She loves cuddling up in cozy places and watching the world go by from the safety of her favourite window sill. Peggy is still learning to trust people, so she needs a very special family willing to give her time and space and to continue to work with her on socialization. Peggy is currently staying in a foster home in Tokyo, but can be available for adoption in other parts of Japan.
