At just two months of age, Koki and his brother, Kazu, were abandoned in a secluded area of Inawashiro, Fukushima.  Fortunately, our shelter volunteer team happened by the area just at the right moment! Koki knew a good opportunity when he saw it, and decided then and there to head right back to the shelter with his rescuers. Kazu, however, took a bit more convincing!  Luckily, our volunteers were familiar with how elusive kittens can be and stayed out late into the night for two days to trap the little guy. The brothers have since been reunited and both are now happy and healthy boys.  Koki is known around the shelter as a purr machine.  As soon you pick him up, he immediately starts to purr...  And doesn't stop!  He has quite the wild and playful streak, loving nothing more than to run, jump, and pounce alongside his kitten playmates.  Koki is currently staying at the JCN shelter in Inawashiro, but can be available for foster care or adoption in other parts of Japan.
