Jessie was found struggling to survive with a group of other cats at the base of Kasayama in Hagi, Yamaguchi.   She was emaciated, covered in mange, and with an upper respiratory infection so severe that she could scarcely breathe.  Luckily, a kind rescuer saved her and made sure she got all the love and care she so desperately needed.  Jessie has since recuperated, and proven herself an extremely affectionate and friendly little girl.  She loves to play and make up for all the time she lost as a kitten.  She can be quite the snuggler, and regularly seeks out a warm and cozy lap to cuddle up in.  She gets along well with the other cats at the shelter, and enjoys the love and attention given by the people around her.

Jessie has been diagnosed with FIV, which means that she has a weakened immune system.  Although Jessie is doing very well, careful attention must be paid to good eating habits and dental issues to ensure that she stays healthy for a long time. FIV is not transmissible to humans, and is primarily transferred from cat to cat via bite wounds acquired during cat fights.  There is every reason to expect that this loving little kitty will live a long and happy life.

Jessie is currently staying at the JCN shelter in Tokyo, but can be available for foster care or adoption in other parts of Japan.
