Description

Choco was found starving and alone, wandering the streets of Tsushima-Namie in the fall of 2011.  She is a shy and gentle little girl.  For years, she was too nervous to let anyone touch her, but thanks to the incredible work of our volunteers, Choco is starting to learn that petting is an enjoyable thing!  She spends her days hanging out in her favourite cozy nooks and window sills, watching the world go by. When she is frightened, she tends to hide and has never displayed any kind of aggression. Choco gets along well with other cats, and has spent the last six years of her life living alongside her foster sister, Qchan, who has since been adopted.  While she is used to being in a home with young children, she is probably better suited to a quieter, more adult-oriented lifestyle.  Because she seems to bond so closely with other kitties, Choco's ideal home would be one with at least one other cat, or with a person willing to accept one of Choco's shelter buddies as well.  Choco needs a patient family willing to give her time and space learn to trust.  She is a sweet little girl who is just waiting for the right person to see her for who she really is, and invest the time needed for her to come out of her shell.  Choco is currently staying at the JCN shelter in Inawashiro, but can be available for foster care or adoption in other parts of Japan.
