Addy was rescued from inside an evacuated area of Fukushima in 2012.  At the time, she was nursing and desperately trying to protect her five puppies, all of whom have since been adopted.  Perhaps because of this well-tuned maternal instinct, Addy can sometimes be a bit aggressive towards most dogs, however, she loves people and eagerly greets each of the volunteers and visitors that arrive at the shelter. She does get along well with her canine buddy, Chacha,  and the two enjoy going on several long walks each day.  Addy is a sweet girl who quickly and easily befriends everyone she meets.

In the fall of 2018, Addy was diagnosed with a brain tumour.  She currently takes medication to control her seizures, but she may have some vision loss as well.  Despite these health issues, she remains a happy and loving little dog.   Addy is currently staying at the JCN shelter in Inawashiro, but can be available for adoption in other parts of Japan.
