It is tsuyu here in Japan which means the rainy season. This weather makes our cats sleepy and the volunteers kind of nostalgic especially because three of our volunteers left this week ! Special thanks to Amelia, Nicha and Andrew.
Less time outside means more time socializing in our three cat rooms and one thing can wake a naping cat : food !
Claude and Sara for instance are kean of cat treats :)
This is often the time of year that we reflect on where we've been and where we are headed. As the forever meaningful date of March 11 once again draws near, here's a look back over the past year and at our path forward...
This week we said goodbye to two long term volunteers.
The statue of the much-loved Japanese dog Hachiko is a constant reminder of the forever bond between humans and animals. Read the Rocket News report about a beautiful new statue going up at University Tokyo's campus, finally reuniting Hachiko and his long awaited papa Hidesaburo Ueno.
On Monday we said goodbye to Elodie and Lou. Both hailing from France, these dedicated volunteers spent two months at the Fukushima shelter.
